Eliminating Viral Hepatitis in Scotland

This training will be held online via Microsoft Teams.

AIM: 

To increase workers', volunteers', and community members' understanding and knowledge of key issues related to Viral hepatitis with a focus on hepatitis C, with a particular emphasis on prevention, removing barriers to treatment, and reducing stigma.

 Learning Outcomes:

• Recall transmission routes and prevention strategies for Hepatitis B and C and be able to describe the different testing methods and treatment options available.
• Gain an understanding of the barriers people can face in accessing testing and treatment services for hepatitis C, and the different pathways available to remove these barriers.
• Discuss the causes and effects of stigma experienced by people affected by hepatitis C.
• Feel confident to be a part of the efforts to eliminate hepatitis C in Scotland by 2024.

Pre-course activities will be sent out prior to the course and should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.
